The issue of providing humanitarian assistance to the in-migrants was discussed during the meeting in the Committee on February 25.

Commenting on the developments in the east of the country, Liudmyla Denisova stressed that “Ukraine is the state that changes the world. If there is peace in Ukraine, there will be peace in Europe.” She thanked all the citizens of Germany and Federal Kanzler Angela Merkel for providing assistance to Ukraine.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of German to Ukraine Christoph Weil said: “We share your concerns about the situation in Donbas. German Government does its best to help Ukraine. No doubt, a good will of each and all is necessary to calm the situation in Donbas.”

The Parties discussed the issue of humanitarian assistance to the in-migrants from Donbas and Crimea, particularly regarding granting module houses on the part of Germany to settle 4 thousand of displaced persons.

According to Mr. Ambassador, some homes have already been settled in by the in-migrants and some are still not. In this connection, Christoph Weil addressed the Committee Chair with a request to enhance further housing of such persons and establish proper living conditions.

In her turn, Liudmyla Denisova informed that at present there are 1 million 54 thousand of registered in-migrants, which is 747 families.

The Parties discussed also a range of other issues in the sphere of citizens’ social protection.
